Good point. I didn’t do any fact checking on this one, as I didn’t actually care until yesterday. But it’s strange that a board made up of the heads of my favorite companies would choose to ban a Japanese staple like rape. What next, will they stop eating rice and using soy sauce? I’m assuming they were pressured by the leadership in their country, but who’s pointing fingers?

minori makes really bad games. I don’t know how they managed to get anime adaptations of ef made, but I assume it’s due to connections in their industry. *cough*Shinkai*cough*

A minor mistake in your post, as the Japanese Diet (the legislative body) did not have anything to do with the ban. The ban was made by the EOCS, which is the rating board for Japanese adult games (normal games are rated by CERO, which is the equivalent to ESRB). The ban on said genres is being enforced by an industry group, NOT an act of the Diet.

As far as minori is concerned, some of their games have gone on to become animes (ef – a tale of memories/melodies). I haven’t played any of their games, although I do plan on getting into that side soon enough.

Am I the only one who’s sad for Michael Jackson’s death? Im not a fan of him.. But I dont know.. ;___;
