So your sister’s birthday is coming up and you still don’t know what to get her? If you’re a putz like me, you can buy her a Balenciaga handbag and some expensive name-brand sandals. Or you can be a man (or manly woman) and buy her a gift that means something, from the heart, or gets you off; whatever. Like a pair of high-end headphones! more…
Ninjas have been a popular subject in manga and anime, even before Naruto took the world by storm and polluted the youths with delusions of summoning giant frogs and doppelgangers. So perhaps it should not come as a big surprise that Del Rey has gone and brought another “great” title to America.
Ninja Girls, otherwise known as Rappi Rangai in Japan, will be the latest ninja fecal matter to adorn the shelves of young boys and middle-aged men in America come August 11, 2009. Having read the first volume, also known as a tankoubon by weeaboos, nearly a year ago, I think this will be another grand addition to the already shallow manga assortment found in bookstores. The story is rather ordinary and uninteresting, so I won’t bother going into it here. I’m sure many reputable sites have already announced this manga’s acquisition by Random House’s less-reputable cousin years ago, so this isn’t even worth posting.
Unfortunately, I own six volumes of this (that’s right I buy my manga) and feel pissed that I went and bought the Japanese version when I could have waited four months and just read it in Borders like I usually do. Oh well, there isn’t a way to turn back time so at the very least writing this article makes me feel like it wasn’t a complete waste of my money. So where was I? Well, who cares. The art is pretty, and the covers are nice; though it isn’t original, and frankly the characters all look plain… so what I really want to say is don’t bother buying this one. I already paid for your share of this fantastic manga with my own purchase.
Japanese lesson for the day. ku-no-i-chi – means ninja. female ninja. Do yourself a favor and jump off a bridge.
Nickelodeon’s American animation Avatar: The Last Airbender was set to have an American live action movie titled The Last Airbender. The first images have been unleashed on the Internet and here’s our hero Aang.
Avatar: The Last Airbender is seen as anime by many and was claimed to be the first American made anime. It’s clearly inspired, but if it is or not is up to you. The series is an action adventure with a few cultures that are separated by elemental power differences that can cause wars and battles. Movie set to come out early/mid 2010. USA Today the magazine and site is the source of this revealing.
Click here to view likely one of the most amazing and refreshing sites for web design. It’s a social bookmarking site that’s much like Digg, Furl, or Reddit. It’s focus however is on showing off websites or pages with unique and amazing coding or looks. Many feature Flash and others range from the simple to the complex. Straightline Bookmarks is fairly English friendly since it has English, images link to the site, and some of the linked to sites are also in English if not in mulitple langauges. There’s actually more to Straightline which can be seen on the homepage. Hopefully the site can get enough attention and users to become much larger and diverse.
Due to some unfortunate circumstances, which were honestly and 100% totally out of my control (me and my lazy ass) my follow up part 2 post that was coming “tomorrow” has been delayed an entire week or so. However I have the time now so lets do this. more…
Well to be honest my gundam is already finished but I took as many pics as I could between the steps before going onto the next but due to my sister messing with the camera, some of the unarmored shots I took are missing so what you see here is the end result of the parts such as arms, legs and such.
Day 1
Yet again today was a rather dark and cold day so all in all it was a rather subpar gundam building day but I care not for cold weather so construction went ahead.
1 thing I love about PG kits is how they are built. Most kits you buy start on the chest, move over to the arms, up to the head, down to the waist, further down to the legs and finaly the feet. However these kits start from the feet and work their way up logicaly so the last thing to be build is the head itself. Ah great stuff. As some photos are gone so you’ll have to make do with a combined leg/foot pic. more…
