So I recently bought a JVC HA-RX900 because it was pretty cheap and it looked comfy. Well, for 60 bucks, it’s not a bad headphone, but not very practical. The cord was extremely long, which I assume is because these headphones are meant for people who live in small houses and want to take walks to the local park without carrying an iPod or Zune.

The sound quality was sort of grainy, but I was using 320kbps mp3 and they’re not the best source for testing quality. Later tonight I guess I’ll break out my cheap amplifier and CD collection for further experimentation. Furthermore, even with my potentiometer on full blast, the music barely managed to drown out the *fap fap* of my daily routine. Of course, to make things fair, I am pretty loud when it comes to performing my duties. The overall comfort was satisfactory but the style was sort of too ugly for outdoor use.  Of course, I’m too pretty for such a setback to prevent me from displaying these things in public. As I was lying on my bed falling asleep to music, a gnat flew into my room and started bothering me, which may also account for my overall dissatisfaction.

The bass wasn’t very audible, but easy to feel. Then again, I don’t listen to anything with heavy bass, so I’m in no position to comment on that. At the very least the loud noises were loud. I think for 60 bucks, it’s a good set of headphones, but I’d suggest saving 20 dollars and just buying the RX700.

The music I ran through these things were DICK DOG PRESIDENT, Hurt, Misawa Aki, Crooked Still, Eiko Shimamiya and Ceui. Don’t judge me.
